Contestants took on two routines this week in hopes of staying in the competition and winning the Mirrorball Trophy! We’ve had to say goodbye to some incredible talent this season, but we’re only one week away from seeing who will reign as the champions of season 27.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWk4OCLZ9Tk
This week Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess performed a hype salsa! Majority of the routine focused on the ladies workin’ it, but we have to acknowledge Bones’ shimmy efforts, too. This seemed to be one of Bones’ strongest performances yet and he was committed 100%–even giving viewers some face during the routine! While Bones hasn’t been the most graceful dancer this season, he definitely has been one of the most entertaining to watch!
Score: 21/30
Alexis & Alan
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vswg-JKdeEg
The waltz was taken on by Alexis Ren and Alan Bersten–who have undoubtedly seen sparks fly from working together this season. This week’s routine oozed romance, making it even harder for us not to love #TeamRenTen. Ren executed great form and rhythm in her waltz, which is to be expected at this point! And can we talk about the music crescendo? We definitely got chills!
Score: 28/30
Joe & Jenna
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cvV4tVqj7xw
We love when we get to see Joe Amabile’s more serious side and that is exactly what DWTS semi-finals gave us this week. He and partner Jenna Johnson performed a contemporary routine to “This Year’s Love” by David Gray. Amabile also put his best foot forward this week, and I personally believe that they should have scored higher with this performance. Rarely ever does Amabile project a clear connection to the storyline and his partner, but this week he managed to do so impressively.
Score: 22/30
Juan Pablo & Cheryl
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYgvBvGaxqA
Juan Pablo Di Pace and the tango go together like peanut butter and jelly! Di Pace and Cheryl Burke never seem to disappoint with any style their given, but this week’s routine confirmed to us that tango is easily a strong suit of his. As always, the two performed in perfect synchronization and gave us personality throughout the choreography. With performances like this one, it’s no wonder #TeamChernando seems to receive perfect scores almost every week.
Score: 30/30
Evanna & Keo
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wm0T2VBUXLc
Evanna Lynch and Keo Motsepe performed an emotional contemporary routine this week, that even brought Motsepe to tears! Week after week, Lynch commits to each and every style thrown her way, and I believe that is one of the many reasons she’s made it this far in the competition. The routine was performed in honor of Simon Fitzmaurice, a filmmaker that Lynch had the honor of working with before he passed away from ALS. There’s no explanation needed on why they received tens across the board from the judges panel.
Score: 30/30
Milo & Witney
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=USI320fVx4o
A piping hot tango was performed by Milo Manheim and Witney Carson on this week’s semi-finals. The thing I love about these two is their ability to explore and get creative with each performance. Carson’s choreography accented the unique musicality and Manheim kept up with the pro in each and every step! Manheim has definitely improved tremendously this season in both his form and in lifts. Kudos to these two for creating another amazing routine that showcased so many different skills!
Score: 27/30
Judge’s Choice
Next, the judges chose a routine from earlier in the season for each contestant to perform a second time. Have fun reliving all of these incredible performances!

With all of these amazing routines, how are we supposed to have another double elimination!? Per usual, the judges’ scores from this week and viewers’ votes from last week were combined to reveal who would be in jeopardy and, ultimately, who would be sent home.
#TeamCheckUsOut, #TeamRenTen and #TeamChernando were all placed in jeopardy, but who was eliminated? After host Tom Bergeron announced Ren and Bersten were safe, that left Amabile and Di Pace being sent home. EPIC sad face. Two fan favorites at once? How will we survive!?
Next Monday, we will finally find out who will take home the treasured Mirrorball Trophy. Tweet @insidedancemag with who you think will win! And tune in to ABC at 8/7c next Monday to find out and make sure to check back with Inside Dance for an epic recap of the finale!
